On March 23, 2023, Verleria Bridges, a 37-year-old female, was tragically killed in her Antioch, Tennessee, home. The incident unfolded in the morning, around 10 a.m., at their residence on Water Oak Court.
Her husband, 42-year-old Antonio Bridges, returned to their home and an argument ensued between the couple. The dispute escalated, leading to Antonio fatally shooting Verleria before turning the gun on himself in a murder-suicide. The Metropolitan Nashville Police Department confirmed the events and noted that their Domestic Violence Division had no prior history of involvement with the couple.
Present in the home at the time of the shooting was Verleria Bridges' adult daughter, who immediately called 911 for help. However, both Verleria and Antonio Bridges were deceased by the time authorities arrived. No other suspects were sought, and no arrests were made in connection with the case due to the nature of the murder-suicide.
