DeEbony LaShea Groves, a 21-year-old African American woman, tragically lost her life on April 22, 2018, in a mass shooting at a Waffle House in Antioch, Tennessee. Groves was a senior at Belmont University, majoring in Sociology, and a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc. She was known for her intelligence, hard work, and dedication to her studies and basketball team. Groves was fatally wounded by a gunman who opened fire at the restaurant early Sunday morning.
