On February 23, 2023, Philadelphia police responded to a 911 call reporting that a man had shot his mother in a residence on the 400 block of Parlin Street in the Somerton neighborhood. Upon arrival, officers found 50-year-old Rima Ablyamitova lying on the floor with a single gunshot wound. Medics pronounced her dead at 7:14 p.m.
