On March 31, 2023, at approximately 7:23 p.m., Philadelphia Police responded to reports of a shooting on the 3500 block of Wallace Street in the Mantua neighborhood. Upon arrival, officers discovered 31-year-old Jefferson Young suffering from gunshot wounds to the chest and head. He was immediately transported to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead shortly before 7:45 p.m.
