On August 28, 2023, at approximately 11:51 p.m., Philadelphia Police officers responded to reports of gunfire on the 8000 block of Madison Avenue in Southwest Philadelphia. Upon arrival, they discovered 55-year-old Maurice Hill lying unresponsive in the street, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to the face, torso, arm, and leg. The officers immediately transported him to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.
