A birthday celebration turned into a scene of unimaginable tragedy on September 6, 2011, in West Philadelphia. Porfirio Nunez, a 50-year-old male, was celebrating his milestone at his family-owned business, Lorena's Grocery, located at 50th and Parrish Streets. Present with him were his wife, Johana 'Carmen' Nunez, 44, his sister, Lina Sanchez, 48, and his two daughters. The evening took a horrifying turn when two armed men entered the store with the intent to rob it.
