On November 23, 2023, at approximately 5:54 p.m., Philadelphia Police officers responded to a report of a person with a gun on the 1900 block of West Hunting Park Avenue in the Nicetown section of Philadelphia. Upon arrival, they discovered 26-year-old Rashaan Harrison-Smith lying in the street, suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest. Medics transported him to Temple University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 6:18 p.m.
