On the evening of May 30, 2024, Tre'Von James Beasley, a 25-year-old man from Delaware, was fatally shot in the Mantua section of Philadelphia. The incident occurred around 10:35 p.m. on the 3800 block of Brown Street, where Beasley was visiting his girlfriend. Officers from the Philadelphia Housing Authority police heard the gunshots and discovered Beasley at the scene with multiple gunshot wounds. He was transported to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead a short time later.
Remembered as a devoted father to his two young children, a son and a daughter, Beasley was a plumber by trade with aspirations of starting his own business. His family described him as a kind-hearted and humorous individual who was not involved in street life or any gang activity. According to his mother, Beasley's wallet, cell phone, and truck keys were not taken from him during the incident, suggesting that robbery was not the primary motive.
In the wake of the shooting, the city of Philadelphia has offered a reward of up to $20,000 for any information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for Tre'Von Beasley's death. His family has made public pleas for witnesses to come forward to help bring closure to the case and deliver justice for Beasley.
