On a spring evening in Philadelphia, what might have been an ordinary gathering of friends turned into a scene of deadly violence. On April 3, 2017, 20-year-old Tyair Jabbar, a Black male, was standing with a group of other men on the 1100 block of Stiles Street. The normalcy of the moment was shattered when they were approached by unknown individuals who, without warning, opened fire on the group.
In the chaos that ensued, numerous shots were fired, and several people were struck.
Tyair Jabbar, a resident of Trinity Street, was one of the victims who suffered fatal injuries in the sudden onslaught of gunfire. The hail of bullets also claimed the lives of two other men, 27-year-old Marcello Robertson and 32-year-old Ronald Fenwick. Another individual was also shot but survived the attack.
In the aftermath of the shooting, the Philadelphia Police Department launched an investigation into the triple homicide. However, the assailants fled the scene, and despite appeals to the public for information, the case has remained unsolved. No arrests have been made in connection with the deaths of Tyair Jabbar, Marcello Robertson, and Ronald Fenwick, and the individuals responsible for the violent attack are still at large. The Philadelphia Police continue to seek any information that could lead to a breakthrough in this open case.
