Winfred Sylvester Hunter, a 39-year-old male police officer with the Philadelphia Police Department, tragically lost his life on June 4, 1990. Officer Hunter, who was African American, had served the force for 19 years. He was off-duty at the time of his death, attempting to intervene in a fight at a club called Strawberry Mansion.
