On December 27, 2023, 57-year-old George C. Dayieb of Murrysville, Pennsylvania, was reported missing after leaving his home to meet Jeremy Fisher, a business associate, regarding a substantial debt exceeding $400,000. The two were partners in an excavation company based in Robinson Township, and Fisher owed the money for equipment Dayieb had purchased for him.
Later that day, Kennedy Township Police found Dayieb's unoccupied black Ford F-350 near Ewing Road.
On December 29, authorities discovered Dayieb's body inside a trailer in Clarion County, Pennsylvania, with a single gunshot wound to the back of his head.
Investigations led to the arrest of three individuals: Jeremy Fisher, 41, of Coraopolis; William Fortuna, 58, of Conway; and Braden Elliott, 20, of Chicora. Fisher allegedly conspired with Fortuna and Elliott to murder Dayieb to avoid repaying the debt. Fortuna provided Fisher with a revolver, and Elliott was promised a diesel truck in exchange for his assistance. Surveillance footage showed Dayieb entering Fisher's vehicle near a Citgo gas station in Coraopolis, with Elliott seated behind him and Fortuna following in another truck.
All three suspects have been charged with criminal homicide, criminal conspiracy, and abuse of a corpse. Elliott and Fortuna are being held at the Allegheny County Jail, while Fisher was hospitalized following a medical emergency at the time of his arrest. Preliminary hearings for Elliott and Fortuna were scheduled for January 12, 2024.
Dayieb was remembered as a beloved companion, father, and son. His sudden passing has left a significant impact on his family and community.
