On January 27, 2024, at approximately 2:30 a.m., Harrisburg police responded to reports of gunfire in the 400 block of Crescent Street. Upon arrival, officers discovered 33-year-old Daniel E. Maldonado suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was promptly transported to UPMC Harrisburg Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 2:44 a.m. The Dauphin County Coroner later confirmed that Maldonado's death resulted from multiple gunshot wounds, officially ruling it a homicide.
