On February 9, 2024, at approximately 9:25 p.m., Philadelphia Police officers responded to reports of gunfire in the 2900 block of Ruth Street in the Kensington neighborhood. Upon arrival, they discovered 15-year-old Duvan Dennis suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Officers immediately transported him to Temple University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 9:42 p.m.
