In the late hours of a November evening, the city of Philadelphia lost a man who had dedicated his life to curbing the very violence that would ultimately claim him. Michael Muhammad, a respected anti-violence activist and block captain in the Richard Allen section of North Philadelphia, was shot and killed on November 27, 2021. As of early December 2021, no arrests had been made in connection with the murder of Michael Muhammad, leaving his family and his community still waiting for justice.
