On May 24, 2024, in Cardale, Pennsylvania, 73-year-old James E. Tucker Jr. was fatally shot inside a residence on Second Street. The alleged shooter, 75-year-old Edmund Parson, was a friend of Tucker's. According to reports, both men were seated in the living room when Parson retrieved a pistol from a storage box and shot Tucker twice. Another individual present in the home managed to wrestle the firearm away from Parson, sustaining minor injuries in the process.
