On September 9, 2022, Dante Jones, a 34-year-old male from Verona, PA, was fatally shot outside the Exxon Station on Allegheny River Boulevard in Penn Hills. Jones had just finished pumping gas into his car when another vehicle pulled up beside him. An individual from that vehicle, later identified as Michael Wade, exited the car, approached Jones' vehicle, and opened fire, striking Jones multiple times. Jones was taken to a hospital but succumbed to his injuries.
