On January 11, 2024, at approximately 9:29 p.m., 16-year-old Tyshaun Welles was fatally shot on the westbound platform of SEPTA's Market-Frankford Line at the 15th Street Station in Center City Philadelphia. Welles, a resident of the 6100 block of Erdick Street, was struck in the head by a bullet and transported to Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in critical condition. Despite medical efforts, he succumbed to his injuries on January 16, 2024.
