On February 15, 2024, at approximately 8:54 p.m., 20-year-old Philadelphia resident Kristofer Dowling was fatally shot while walking to a local pizza store in the 5800 block of Rising Sun Avenue in the city's Lawncrest neighborhood. Responding officers found Dowling with multiple gunshot wounds; he was transported to Temple University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 9:12 p.m.
