In the spring of 2019, the life of a loving father and entrepreneur was tragically cut short in Southwest Philadelphia. Khalil Hicks, a 39-year-old male, was inside a U-Haul storage garage on the 6200 block of Chelwynde Avenue on the evening of April 16th when he was fatally shot during a robbery. Police responded to a call for a critical shooting just after 7:50 p.m. and found Hicks unresponsive with gunshot wounds to his back. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
