In the late hours of a Friday night in Chester, Pennsylvania, the life of 18-year-old Ramaj Burton was tragically cut short. On July 19, 2019, gunshots rang out at the intersection of Rose and Spruce Streets, leaving two young men wounded. Ramaj, a Black male who had recently graduated from Chester Stem Academy, was struck multiple times in the chest. In the immediate aftermath, he was rushed to Crozer-Chester Medical Center in a private vehicle but was pronounced dead upon arrival.
