In the quiet community of West Lawn, Pennsylvania, a loving husband and father, Gregory S. Crammer, was tragically killed on the morning of Tuesday, June 25, 2024. The 55-year-old male owner of Image Plus Dental Design in Reading was discovered with fatal gunshot wounds inside his first-floor apartment and office space at 2105 Penn Avenue in Spring Township.
Responding to reports of a shooting at approximately 7:00 AM, officers from the Township of Spring Police Department entered the residence to find Mr. Crammer's body. The investigation quickly led to the apprehension of his upstairs neighbor, 56-year-old Angel Adames. Adames was taken into custody at the scene without incident.
Subsequent investigation revealed a chilling account of the events leading to Crammer's death. It is alleged that Adames broke into Crammer's apartment and lay in wait for him. When Crammer arrived, he was ambushed and shot multiple times. After the shooting, Adames himself contacted 911 to report the incident.
Angel Adames faces a string of serious charges, including first, second, and third-degree homicide, as well as burglary and aggravated assault. He is currently being held without bail. Court records from January 2026 indicate that legal proceedings have been complicated by Adames's mental state. In September 2024, he was found incompetent to stand trial following a psychiatric evaluation. A later court opinion discussed a motion regarding the involuntary medication of Adames to potentially render him competent for trial.
Gregory Crammer was remembered as a devoted family man and an active member of his community, deeply involved with the Spring Township Lions Club and as a coach for a local youth baseball team. His sudden and violent death has left his family and community in mourning.
