Keith Jakwan “Jay” Whitner, a 17-year-old Black/African American male from Reading, Pennsylvania, was killed in a drive-by shooting in the 100 block of West Green Street in Reading in July 2015. He was still a teenager, remembered by family as a brother and loved one whose life ended before adulthood. His sister, Ianna, described him as “a great person who was taken way too soon,” and the grief surrounding his death remained raw for relatives who had to speak publicly about the violence ...
