On the evening of June 26, 2024, at approximately 8:37 p.m., Philadelphia Police officers responded to reports of a shooting on the 2200 block of South 23rd Street in South Philadelphia. Upon arrival, they discovered 21-year-old As Saadiq Abdul-Aziz inside a residence's living room, suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest. Officers immediately transported him to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead at 9:16 p.m.
