In the morning hours of Saturday, October 5, 2024, the life of 20-year-old Tamir A. Threadgill, a Black male, was tragically cut short in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Philadelphia Police were called to an apartment on the 1300 block of North 52nd Street at 9:36 a.m. Upon arrival, they discovered Threadgill inside, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
Emergency medical services were dispatched to the scene, and Threadgill was quickly transported to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center in an
effort to save his life. Despite the efforts of medical professionals, he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead that morning. Threadgill was a resident of North 52nd Street, the very same area where the fatal shooting occurred.
The investigation into the murder of Tamir Threadgill led to a significant development just days later. On Friday, October 11, 2024, a suspect was arrested in connection with his death. While the case is no longer considered unsolved, the outcome is pending trial. Funeral services for Threadgill were scheduled for Wednesday, October 9, 2024, with his final resting place at Chelten Hills Cemetery.
