On the morning of February 18, 2021, 16-year-old Kahlief Myrick, a male student of African American ethnicity from Philadelphia, PA, was fatally shot outside a convenience store. Myrick and his cousin had gone to the 7-Eleven on South 70th Street in Southwest Philadelphia around 4 a.m. Inside the store, Myrick encountered 45-year-old Donald Whitingham, who asked him, "What are you looking at?"
