In the evening of September 29, 2023, the life of Lavan Wilson, a 24-year-old Black male, was tragically cut short on the 3200 block of Emerald Street in Philadelphia. Responding to a call at approximately 7:39 p.m., Philadelphia Police officers discovered Wilson unresponsive, having sustained multiple gunshot wounds. They quickly transported him to Temple University Hospital, but his injuries proved fatal, and he was pronounced dead by medical personnel.
