In the afternoon of March 25, 2019, 31-year-old Richard Isaac was sitting on a front porch in the East Mount Airy neighborhood of Philadelphia. At approximately 4 p.m., on the 100 block of Meehan Avenue, he was shot multiple times in the head and body. Emergency responders rushed him to Albert Einstein Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead. At the time of the incident, the police had not made any arrests and were actively investigating the shooting.
The investigation into the
murder of Richard Isaac was part of a larger inquiry into a series of contract killings in Philadelphia. This broader investigation led to the arrest of Steven M. Williams in 2020. Authorities identified Williams as a hired killer who had received thousands of dollars for carrying out murders.
In December of the year he was arrested, Steven M. Williams pleaded guilty to three counts of murder, including the murder of Richard Isaac, as well as conspiracy to commit murder. He was implicated in the shooting deaths of three other men between September 2018 and May 2019. For his role in these killings for hire, Williams was sentenced to more than 40 years in prison.
