Death by Force

On June 15, 2023, at approximately 11:30 p.m., Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department (CMPD) officers responded to an assault with a deadly weapon call at a residence on Sunwalk Court in north Charlotte. Upon arrival, they discovered 12-year-old Ahmad Wrighten suffering from significant trauma. He was immediately transported to Atrium Health's Carolinas Medical Center, where he was pronounced deceased upon arrival.
