On July 20, 2001, Juan Lugo Pastor, 25, was shot and killed during a violent robbery while visiting a friend's residence at 5708 Cedars East Court in Charlotte, North Carolina. Pastor, along with his wife Irma Quezada and their friend Francisco Pena, were outside the apartment when three men approached them. The suspects, described as wearing dark clothing, attacked the group—one grabbed Quezada, another fought with Pena, and the third took Pastor's wallet before shooting him. Pena was also shot but survived after being treated at the hospital, while Pastor died at the scene. The suspects fled on foot, and the case remains unsolved, with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department still seeking information to solve the crime
