On December 3, 2006, Alan Joseph Stevens, 24, was tragically shot and killed in his apartment at Firwood Lane, Charlotte, North Carolina. The incident occurred around 3:25 a.m. when Stevens was at his residence with friends. There was a knock at the door, and upon answering, Stevens was confronted by a man armed with a handgun who attempted to force entry. Stevens bravely fought with the assailant, pushing him outside.
