On August 13, 2011, 29-year-old Justin Delton Jeeter was shot and killed in Charlotte, North Carolina. The incident took place at 3615 Barringer Drive in the Westover Division. According to reports, a male suspect knocked on the door of the residence, and when Jeeter answered, the suspect produced a firearm and shot him in the chest. Jeeter was pronounced dead at the scene shortly after 12:29 a.m.
Witnesses described the suspect as a bald Black male wearing a white t-shirt, blue jean shorts, and Timberland boots. He fled the scene on foot, heading towards Interstate 77.
Initial investigations suggested that the shooting was not a random act of violence, with indications that Jeeter may have known the suspect. Detectives canvassed the neighborhood in search of additional witnesses and continued to investigate the case. Authorities urged anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers or the lead detective on the case.
