On June 20, 2017, David Sean Lindsay, a 29-year-old barber from Charlotte, was tragically shot and killed while sitting in an SUV in the driveway of a home in east Charlotte. Police were called to the scene around 11 p.m., where they found Lindsay, a well-known figure in the local community, unresponsive in the front seat of the vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Lindsay was a respected barber at the No Grease Barbershop, known for his skills and his outreach work, including mentoring young people and working to reduce violence in the community.
Friends and family were shocked by his death, as Lindsay was admired for his positive influence, particularly within Charlotte's Black community. He had worked with celebrities and local figures, and his generosity extended to cutting hair for those in need, regardless of their ability to pay. Despite his contributions, no arrests have been made in connection to his murder, and police have not yet identified a suspect or motive. The case remains unsolved, leaving his family and the community grieving the loss of a beloved figure.
