In the early hours of Saturday, September 9, 2023, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department (CMPD) officers responded to a call reporting an assault with a deadly weapon in the 2000 block of Prospect Drive, located in the North Tryon Division of Charlotte, North Carolina. Upon arrival, officers discovered 24-year-old Gustavo Adolfo Nunez, who had sustained a fatal gunshot wound. Tragically, Nunez was pronounced dead at the scene, just two days shy of his 25th birthday.
