On July 17, 2023, at approximately 9:40 p.m., 40-year-old Reynaldo Rivera was fatally shot during a home invasion at the Heatherwood Trace Apartments on Paces Glen Avenue in east Charlotte, North Carolina. A second victim, a 23-year-old male, sustained potentially life-threatening injuries and was transported to a hospital for treatment.
