Jervais Cain, a 19-year-old student at Central Piedmont Community College (CPCC), was shot and killed on the night of November 20, 2017, in Charlotte, North Carolina. Police found Cain's body with a gunshot wound during a welfare check in the 500 block of Barton Creek Drive near the UNC-Charlotte campus. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Investigators believe Cain may have known his assailant, although no arrests have been made.
The case, which marked Charlotte's 80th homicide of the year, remains unsolved, with authorities continuing to seek any information from potential witnesses to help bring closure to his family and friends.
The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department has urged anyone with information to contact them or Crime Stoppers in an effort to progress the investigation.
