Jervais Cain, a 19-year-old student at Central Piedmont Community College (CPCC), was shot and killed on the night of November 20, 2017, in Charlotte, North Carolina. Police found Cain's body with a gunshot wound during a welfare check in the 500 block of Barton Creek Drive near the UNC-Charlotte campus. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
