Matthew Duke Gibbons, a 25-year-old man, was tragically shot and killed on February 1, 2018, in northwest Charlotte, North Carolina. The incident occurred in the 300 block of Rhyne Station Road, where Gibbons was found in the front yard of a home suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene by Medic. Gibbons' death was one of three shootings that the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department responded to within just over an hour that night.
