On February 13, 2024, at approximately 12:15 p.m., Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department (CMPD) officers responded to an assist Medic call in the 8800 block of Camden Creek Lane, located within the Stone Ridge apartment community in the Steele Creek Division of Charlotte, North Carolina. Upon arrival, officers discovered 39-year-old Michael Burroughs unresponsive, having sustained a fatal gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
