On the night of May 18, 2024, 22-year-old Joris Bernard Cooper Jr. was fatally shot in Raleigh, North Carolina. The incident occurred around 11:49 p.m. near the intersection of Sherman Avenue and Clanton Street. Cooper was walking to a Taco Bell on Western Boulevard when he was attacked. Emergency responders transported him to a nearby hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
