Both men had been shot, and the police believe the incident was the result of a narcotic-related robbery.
The investigation revealed that the victims were likely involved in an arranged meeting

Search warrants indicated that one of the men was sitting on an iPhone at the time of his death, which investigators believed would yield clues about the meeting and the individuals involved. The police charged two men, Denzel Rashad Dancy, 18, of Goldsboro, and Daekwon Javon Ragland, 20, of Raleigh, with murder. However, data on the phone suggested that others might also be implicated.
The families of the victims were devastated by the loss. Juana Reyes, Pedro's mother, expressed her grief, stating that the pain of losing her only son was unbearable. Pedro was training to be a mechanic and was an aspiring musician.
