On May 21, 2024, at approximately 8:30 p.m., Durham police responded to reports of a shooting in the 1500 block of Guess Road. Upon arrival, officers discovered 32-year-old Trocon George lying in the parking lot of a local business, suffering from gunshot wounds. Despite immediate medical attention, George was pronounced dead at the scene.

Following a thorough investigation, authorities arrested 25-year-old Damonte Lewis on December 9, 2024, in connection with George's death. Lewis has ...
