In the quiet neighborhood of Edenwald in the Bronx, the evening of January 18, 2023, was shattered by violence that claimed the life of 21-year-old Nicholas Lewis. A young man described by neighbors as quiet and hardworking, Lewis was found with a fatal gunshot wound to his chest in the basement hallway at the rear of his home on Pratt Avenue. The incident occurred at approximately 8:51 p.m., prompting a swift response from the 47th Precinct after a 911 call reported the shooting.
