On a brisk Thanksgiving evening in the Bronx, a violent altercation cut short the life of 29-year-old Anthony Martinez. It was around 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, November 27, 2014, in the Soundview neighborhood, when Martinez was shot multiple times in the face and torso in front of a building on Longwood Avenue, near Kelly Street.
