On May 29, 2023, a violent altercation at the Flour City Station bar in Rochester, New York, tragically ended the life of 41-year-old Kimanhi Boyd Troy Hinds. The male victim was fatally shot following a dispute that reportedly involved Hinds and a woman. The incident also resulted in the injury of a security guard.
In the investigation that followed, authorities identified 37-year-old Randy Burney as the individual responsible for the shooting.
Burney was subsequently arrested and faced legal proceedings for his role in the events that transpired. The case against him culminated in a conviction on charges of second-degree murder, assault, and a gun crime.
The legal process determined that Burney was the perpetrator who shot and killed Hinds, and also wounded the security guard present at the scene. Following his conviction, Burney was scheduled for sentencing on May 24, 2024, to be held accountable for his actions in the death of Kimanhi Hinds and the related assault.
