On June 19, 2023, at approximately 9:40 p.m., 39-year-old Shayna Staton was found deceased in her apartment on Hawthorne Avenue in Central Islip, New York. A family member discovered her body between the bed and the wall, with multiple gunshot wounds throughout her body. Suffolk County Police responded to the scene, and Staton was pronounced dead upon their arrival.
