Tyrell Smith, a 33-year-old resident of Queens, New York, was fatally shot on June 25, 2023. The incident occurred around 12:20 a.m. near the intersection of 31st Avenue and Hobart Street, close to the Woodside Houses NYCHA complex. Smith was shot multiple times in both arms and legs outside a local bodega. He was privately transported to NYC Health and Hospitals/Elmhurst, where he was pronounced dead.
