In the summer of 2023, a promising young life was tragically cut short on the streets of Brooklyn. Foridun Maulonov, a 15-year-old male, was fatally shot in the back in the Bensonhurst neighborhood. He was a talented judo champion who, according to his family, was a source of immense pride. Maulonov was one of six children in a family that had immigrated from Uzbekistan over a decade prior.
