On July 17, 2023, 15-year-old Foridun Maulonou was fatally shot in Bensonhurst, Brooklyn. The incident occurred around 1 p.m. near the intersection of 62nd Street and 20th Avenue, a typically quiet neighborhood. Surveillance footage revealed a masked individual in a black hoodie pulling out a firearm and discharging multiple shots. Tragically, Maulonou was struck in the back and succumbed to his injuries the following day at Maimonides Medical Center.
