In the spring of 2020, a cycle of violence on the streets of Brooklyn claimed the life of 16-year-old Tyquan Howard. On the afternoon of May 12th, Howard was shot in the abdomen in front of 1475 Saint John's Place in Crown Heights. Despite being wounded, he managed to run to the courtyard of 1550 Sterling Place, just around the corner from his own home, where he collapsed.
