On September 24, 2023, at approximately 7:01 PM, the New York Police Department (NYPD) responded to a 911 call reporting a shooting incident at 1480 Popham Avenue in the Bronx. Upon arrival, officers discovered 47-year-old Andres Jose Gomez Rodriguez seated in the driver's seat of an SUV, suffering from gunshot wounds to his torso. Emergency Medical Services (EMS) transported Rodriguez to St. Barnabas Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.
