On November 23, 2023, 69-year-old retired teacher Angelina Renita "Nita" Parker was fatally shot in the neck outside her residence at the Brevoort Houses on Bainbridge Street in Brooklyn, New York. The incident occurred just before 11 p.m., and Parker was pronounced dead upon arrival at Brookdale University Hospital.
