On a street in the Brownsville section of Brooklyn, the life of 24-year-old Maurice Boodie was cut short in a burst of gunfire. In the early moments of May 12, 2024, at approximately 12:12 a.m., police were called to 2274 Strauss Street where they discovered Boodie suffering from gunshot wounds to his chest and right leg.
Rushed by emergency medical services to the nearby Brookdale University Hospital and Medical Center, Boodie succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at 1:43 a.m
